Dino Shadow Matching Activity
This activity is super fun and PERFECT for reading readiness! In this download you will receive 8 dino cards to match shadows!
Why is shadow matching important? Shadow matching forces children to analyze the shapes of objects because the shadow doesn't contain any other details. Being able to distinguish between different shapes is a necessary skill for learning to identify letters and numbers. The formation of each letter, or its shape, is the main distinguishing factor.
Pro tip: I like to get a few clothespins (the wooden ones are great!) and have my kiddos clip them to the side of the card indicating the matching shadow. This makes the activity extra fun and works on fine motor skills!
